Research Abstract

Work in my laboratory combines biochemical and biophysical techniques to shed light on the detailed interactions between macromolecules that are central to the biology of all organisms. In particular we use single-molecule techniques such as optical and magnetic trapping in combination with fluorescent methods to understand the detailed molecular mechanisms of biological processes. Current projects in the lab include: - Transcription elongation and pausing - Co-transcriptional RNA folding - Eukaryotic transcription initiation
