Grants Management Services

DBBS provides assistance with grant applications for students. Contact the DBBS Research Administrator, Dana Kharibian, as soon as a decision is made to submit an application. For Individual Student application/continuations, contact should be made at least two months in advance of the due date. Three months advance contact is needed for Institutional Grant or other award application/renewals in order to allow adequate time to meet all internal and external requirements.

Division students are very successful in obtaining nationally competitive fellowships. Award recipients who obtain competitive external (fellowship/scholarship) funding may be eligible for a merit award. See below for more information about the merit award.

Individual Student Fellowships

  • Support for fellowship/award application process
  • Assist with administrative requirements for application approval by Grants & Contracts Office and compliance with University requirements for submission

  • Any PhD or MSTP student who obtains competitive external (fellowship/scholarship) funding awarding at least $26,353 annually in stipend will receive a merit award per year for the duration of the fellowship as long as they remain in good academic standing. At the end of the fellowship the student will return to the current DBBS stipend at that time.
  • The merit award is the full responsibility of the Mentor/Department for advanced students.
