Students enroll in a common set of core courses during the first semester*:

Fundamentals of Molecular Cell Biology (Bio 5068)
Nucleic Acids and Protein Biosynthesis (Bio 548)
*Students may petition the Program Directors to take an alternate course during the first semester (e.g.: Computational Molecular Biology).
Students in the Molecular Genetics and Genomics Program begin specialized training in the second semester. The following are required:
